Direct from the Parish – enjoy a day out on a scenic bus trip to Hebden Bridge or Holmfirth
901 service Huddersfield to Hebden Bridge (via Outlane, Sowood, Stainland, Barkisland, Ripponden, Blackstone Edge, Cragg Vale and Mytholmroyd)
The 901 service runs through the glorious landscapes of the South Pennines between Hebden Bridge and Huddersfield.
In the parish you can pick up the service at Outlane, Sowood or Stainland. It runs during the week (more or less hourly) and at weekends (less frequently). The route comes down the main Stainland Road through Outlane and Sowood before heading down Beestonley Lane from Stainland. (Please note there is currently no bus stop for this service in Stainland but you can request a stop by standing outside the Sandwich shop opposite Bowling Green School and raising you arm in good time as the bus approaches! On the return journey the stop would be on the edge of the village green opposite the sandwich shop).

Journey time: Stainland to Hebden Bridge is approximately 45 minutes.
Fares: If you just want a simple return ticket on the 901 you can get an adult day ticket for £4.40 (or £4.00 if travelling after 9.30am weekdays or anytime weekends/bank holidays. Concessionary passes are also valid at this time).
Alternatively a Metro Day Saver for £5.50 will allow you to also use other any other buses throughout your day.
Metro Family Day Savers (£13.70) and Metro Group Day Savers (£24.20) are also available. These can be purchased via the MCard Mobile App or from a Bus Station Travel Centre.
348 service Halifax to Holmfirth (via West Vale, Holywell Green, Stainland, Sowood, Slaithwaite and Meltham)
The 348 service offers offers another scenic tour through our spectacular South Pennine countryside. This is the most recent addition to the Parish’s bus services. It runs on Saturday only on the main road Holywell Green, Stainland and Sowood where it then turns up Park Lane before continuing via Marsden Gate and from there on to the Colne and Holme valleys and the towns of Slaithwaite and Holmfirth both of which have plenty of attractions.

Fares: South Pennine CT offer a day ticket for 1 for £5.00, a day ticket for 2 for £8.00 or a day ticket for 4 for £12.00. Concessionary passes are valid after 9.30am. Metro Day Savers(as above) are also available which will allow you to also use other any other buses throughout your day.
