Environment
Committee

The Environment Committee has the most potential to make an impact on how our community looks and it spends a significant amount of the Parish Council’s budget each year.
Having said that, it is of course the case that most of the projects it undertakes are relatively small and only one or two larger projects can be taken on each year. Joint projects with Calderdale Council to improve play areas and parks are also being explored.
The Parish Council now employs its own part-time Environment Warden, who can be seen round the Parish maintaining flowerbeds and clearing up untidy sites as needed. Then Warden is dedicated to our area and his tasks are organised by the environment committee. We welcome input from residents to identify areas that need attention.

Councillor Tony Weeks Chair, Environment

Our committee is a hard- working team of councillors who have a genuine interest in our local environment and who are dedicated to making improvements. – Small or large each project takes a significant amount of research and preparation behind the scenes before it can be implemented for all to see. It’s a gradual process but we hope that each improvement will bring about a visible difference to the natural and built environment we have. Our conservation area, footpaths, parks and gardens are worth looking after.
We welcome suggestions from residents and hope that we can engage with you to develop ideas and bring about well received and successful projects.
